NHIndustries is pleased to announce the delivery of the first NH90 TTT (Tactical Troop Transport) helicopter to the Finnish Army Aviation. The delivery took place at Eurocopter in Marignane (France) where the helicopter was assembled.

Finland is replacing its ageing fleet of MI-8 helicopters with 20 tactical transport NH90. “We are particularly proud to deliver to Finland this advanced helicopter and are fully confident that Finland took the right decision regarding this choice, being sure that the NH90 will meet the stringent requirements of the Finnish armed forces, both in terms of mission capability as well as for its suitability for the management of international operations” said Gala Gonçalves, General Manager of NHIndustries.

These helicopters are equipped with the most up to date technology (Fly-by-wire, composite materials, system integration) and equipment in terms of navigation, communications, flight aids and self protection. Of the 20 Finnish NH90 helicopters, 19 are to be assembled by Patria in Finland. The first Finnish NH90 assembled by Patria is to be delivered this April to the Finnish Army Aviation.

The Finnish company Patria, a defence and aerospace group focusing on military aircraft and helicopter life cycle support services, is responsible for the final assembly of most of the NH90 helicopters ordered by Sweden and Finland, following an industrial cooperation agreement concluded in the frame of the Nordic Standard Helicopter Programme (NSHP). Under this cooperation Patria also produces some major NH90 structure components, is involved in the assembly of the NH90’s engines and will likewise be responsible for the maintenance and Repair & Overhaul of the Finnish NH90 fleet.

The twin-engine, medium-size NH90 helicopter is provided by the consortium NHIndustries, the Company owned by AgustaWestland (32%), Eurocopter (62,5%), and Stork Fokker (5,5%).

The NH90 helicopter programme is the largest ever launched in Europe, with firm orders now reaching 507 units to equip and modernize the Armed Forces of France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Oman, Australia, New-Zealand, Spain and Belgium. Final negotiation steps are yet under process with several other Defence Forces to secure contracts concerning additional NH90, both in the Tactical Transport and Naval versions.

Aix-en-Provence, 10 August 2007.

NHIndustries on behalf of AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica Company, announces that the first serial production NH90 for the Royal Netherlands Navy performed the maiden flight on Friday 10th August at AgustaWestland’s Vergiate facility in Italy.
The helicopter (NNLN001) took off at 14.45 h and the flight duration was of about 20 minutes. In flight preliminary checks fulfilled all expectations.
Operational Representatives of the Dutch Customer joined the event.

In the frame of the NH90 Programme work-share, AgustaWestland is responsible of the overall integration of the NH90 naval mission system for all NH90 naval variants (NFH: NATO Frigate Helicopter).

The NH90 NFH variant is primarily designed for autonomous Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti Surface Warfare (ASuW) missions. The intrinsic characteristics and comprehensive mission equipment packages allow an unequalled range of additional operations: Search and Rescue (SAR), maritime patrol, vertical replenishment, troop transport, medical services and “Utility” roles. The helicopter is designed for day & night/adverse weather/severe ship motion environment operations. Due to its weight and dimensions, the deck-lock system, the deck traversing system and the automatic blade and tail folding system, it can operate from/to small Frigates.
The NH90 modern platform and system technology will provide real operational advantages for the next 30 years with significant growth potential capabilities.

The Royal Netherlands Navy has ordered a total of 20 NH90-NFH. Final Assembly of the Dutch helicopters is underway at AgustaWestland’s Vergiate facility which is responsible also for the assembly of the NFH variant for Italian and Norwegian Navies as well as for the assembly of the TTH variant for Italian Army.

The NH90 firm orders today have reached 495 units plus 60 contractual options and more than 98 “selections” (for which the definition of the detailed specification are on-going with the Customers) The NH90 is going to equip and modernize the Armed Forces of France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Oman, Australia, New-Zealand, Spain and Belgium. NH90 FIRST DELIVERY FOR SWEDEN

NH90 FIRST DELIVERY FOR SWEDEN NHIndustries and its Partner Companies, AgustaWestland, Eurocopter and Stork Fokker, are proud to announce the first delivery of the swedish serial production NH90 to FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) today during the Paris Air Show 2007.

NH90 FIRST DELIVERY FOR SWEDEN

06/20/2007

NHIndustries and its Partner Companies, AgustaWestland, Eurocopter and Stork Fokker, are proud to announce the first delivery of the swedish serial production NH90 to FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) today during the Paris Air Show 2007.

During the ceremony Gala Gonçalves, General Manager of NHIndustries, underlined the importance of this event, which represents a major step since it is the first serial NH90 transfer of ownership to an Export Customer.
The first 4 serial production NH90 were delivered to Germany (a founding Nation of the NH90 Programme) beginning in December 2006.

Sweden, Finland and Norway gathered under a common acquisition program, Nordic Standard Helicopter Program (NSHP), selected the NH90 as their future multi-role helicopter.
Out of a NSHP total acquisition of 52 NH90 plus 17 options, Sweden has ordered on 26 Sep-tember 2001, 18 firm NH90 of which 13 are dedicated to Tactical Troop Transport (TTT) / Search and Rescue (SAR) missions and 5 to Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) missions. An additional 7 NH90 were contracted as options. All the helicopters ordered by Sweden will be equipped with the new Tactical Mission System (TMS) developed by SAAB, a major industrial group of Sweden. The integration of the TMS in the Swedish NH90 is performed by inte-grated multi-national joint teams EC/ SAAB in Marignane.

In addition to the well known NH90 advanced technologies (full Fly-By-Wire flight control system, full composite crashworthy airframe, full aircraft/avionics/mission system integration and state-of-the-art system suite), all NH90 ordered by FMV will be fitted with a higher cabin in order to optimize upright SAR operations and to improve CARGO/ MEDEVAC/ CASEVAC capabilities. Credit must be given to Sweden as they are the launch customer of the High Cabin Version (HCV) of the NH90. With 24 additional centimetres, the NH90 HCV offers a cargo volume increased by 2.5 additional cubic meters for a total of 17.50 cubic meters. The 1.82 m overall height allows cabin medical attendants to perform their mission within a highly comfortable environment.

The twin-engine, medium-size NH90 helicopter is provided by the consortium NHIndustries, the Company owned by AgustaWestland (32%), Eurocopter (62.5%), and Stork Fokker (5.5%).
The NH90 helicopter programme is the largest ever launched in Europe, with firm orders now reaching 495 units plus 60 options to equip and modernize the Armed Forces of France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Oman, Australia, New-Zealand, Spain and Belgium. Final negotiation steps are under process with several other Defense Forces to secure contracts concerning additional NH90, both in the Tactical Transport and Naval versions. To date, after the first four German NH90, this first Swedish helicopter brings the total of delivered NH90 to 5.
