THE NH90 CAIMAN RESCUES 19 PEOPLE AT NIGHT IN STORMY WEATHER

Less than one week after its’ entry into service the French Navy helicopter based in Lanveoc (France) and belonging to the 33rd squadron received an emergency call during the night from the TK BREMEN supply ship which had been disabled during a storm at 2 oclock in the morning.
Despite the strong winds and the darkness The NH90 Caiman immdiately took off from its home base and rescued the 19 people onboard the TK Bremen which had been forced to ground on the shore breaching its hull.

The Crew was then safely flown to Lann Bihoué Navy Base near Lorient.

This event marks the first successful rescue operation of the Caiman in France and highlights its ability to operate in the most demanding conditions.
