NHI is proud to announce the successful conduct of the first ever NH90 Product Conference. With the clear objectives of increasing communication, cooperation and confidence in the NH90 Program, NHI was for the first time able to gather the Customers from all 14 NH90 Nations, in the one place at the same time, namely in Italy on the 6th and 7th of July 2011.
The event was a combination of technical and support briefings, question and answer sessions, and live demonstrations of the NH90 helicopter and support systems. Committed to providing a relevant and engaging event for the Customer, Industry was represented by the Chief Engineers from Agusta Westland, Eurocopter and Fokker, and the NHI Product Support Directors. This meant that for the first time in the history of the NH90 Program on such a large scale, Customers were able to listen, engage and question those people responsible for the technical characteristics and supportability issues of the NH90. The event also provided a unique catalyst for international cooperation as all 14 Nations were represented.
Highlights of the event included presentations on technical developments of the helicopter, the ongoing reduction of scheduled servicing manpower requirements, and a visit to the Agusta Westland facility at Tessera, near the city of Venice. An Italian Army helicopter was on display, fitted with ballistic protection armour plates and 7.62 mm minigun systems. Demonstrations were also given of the Part Task Trainer cockpit, a Mission Planning Station, the GLIMS maintenance software and the Computer Aided Instruction capability.
NHI intends to continue to hold Product Conferences into the future in order to better answer to the Customer’s needs.
