NHI celebrated today the order of 34 NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopter by France. This celebration took place on NHI booth today at 10.30 am with several authorities from the D.G.A (French Procurement Agency) and the French Army Aviation. (A.L.A.T).

“We are honoured to welcome the DGA and the French Army Aviation at this 50th edition of the Paris Air Show,” declared Xavier Poupardin Delegated Managing Director of NHIndustries. “We are very proud to participate to the modernization of the French Army Aviation with this outstanding helicopter” added Xavier Poupardin. “This technical, industrial and operational success demonstrated by the NH90 TTH Caiman during the last months would not have been possible without a perfect cooperation between DGA, French Armed Forces and industry” explains Xavier Poupardin “This fruitful partnership has been instrumental in demonstrating all the potential of this outstanding helicopter he added “

This order follows the successful “Hot Weather Campaign” performed by French ALAT in the UAE in May-June 2013.

This operation involved the rapid deployment of a French Army Aviation Caiman TTH from Valence to the Al Dhafra base in United Arab Emirates with an AN-124 cargo plane.

During one month, the NH90 logged more than 30 flight hours. It was tested in hot and desertic conditions, performing several operational training missions with special forces by day by night and under extreme temperatures. The aim of this operation was to test the NH90, its weapon system and its engines in the most demanding conditions. The NH90 performed beyond expectations with an availability rate of more than 90%. This key milestone demonstrates the capability of the NH90 to operate anytime anywhere.

The NH90 is the optimal choice for modern operations thanks to its large full composite airframe, its excellent power to weight ratio; and its wide range of rôle equipment. It features a redundant Fly-by-Wire flight control system for reduced Pilot’s workload and enhanced flight characteristics.

The NH90 is proposed in two main variants, one dedicated to naval operations, the NH90NFH (Nato Frigate Helicopter) and a Tactical Transport Variant for land based operations. As of today, around 150 helicopters have been delivered in Naval and Tactical transport variants. They are in service in Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Greece, Oman, Australia and New Zealand.

The twin-engine, medium-size NH90 helicopter program is managed by the consortium NHIndustries, the Company owned by AgustaWestland SpA (32%), Eurocopter (62.5%), and Stork Fokker (5.5%).

NHI ORGANIZES THE THIRD NH90 PRODUCT CONFERENCE

05/27/2013

NHI is pleased to announce the conduct between June 3rd and June 6th of the NH90 product conference at the Royal Netherlands Air Force Base at Gilze-Rijen, near Breda in The Netherlands (RNLAF).
Three NH90s and their equipments will be displayed.

This new edition of the product conference has been organized by NHI with the help of the Commander of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Lieutenant General A. Schnitger. “NHI expresses its thanks to the RNLAF for their hospitality and Support” declared Peter Harris, Manager of the NHI product conference.

This event is particularly important since the NH90 is increasingly being deployed on operations. The international exchanges and discussions between End Users and Industry are proving to be very valuable. With more than 34,000 flight hours logged by customers, and the aircraft being deployed in war and warlike conditions by three European countries, the NH90 return on experience is more important than ever. All current NH90 operators are expected to be in attendance in 2013, with over 100 confirmed participants.

The first edition of this NH90 Product Conference took place in 2011. NHI launched this initiative in order to allow NH90 operators to exchange with Industry in an international forum. The nature of this Conference is to focus on communication between Industry and the operators and maintainers of the NH90 Helicopter and its support systems.

The NH90 is the optimal choice for modern operations thanks to its large fully composite airframe, its excellent power to weight ratio; and its wide range of role equipment. It features a Fly-by-Wire flight control system for reduced pilot workload and enhanced flight characteristics.

The NH90 is proposed in two main versions, one dedicated to naval operations, the Nato Frigate Helicopter, and a Tactical Transport Helicopter for land based operations. As of today, 149 helicopters have been delivered in Naval and Tactical transport versions. They are in service in Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Norway, Greece, Oman, Australia and New Zealand.

The twin-engine, medium-size NH90 helicopter program is managed by the consortium NHIndustries, the Company owned by AgustaWestland SpA (32%), Eurocopter (62.5%), and Stork Fokker (5.5%).

FIRST FLIGHT OF THE BELGIAN NH90 NFH

04/08/2013

NHI is proud to announce the first flight of the first NH90 NFH Nato Frigate Helicopter ordered by the Belgian armed forces.
For this first 45 minutes flight performed on april 5th at Eurocopter facility Donauwörth in Germany, the crew successfully tested the basic systems of this new generation aircraft. After landing, the pilot expressed its satisfaction with the flight qualities of this helicopter. During the next weeks, this first Belgian NH90 NFH will perform several other test flights in order to check the aircraft behaviour and its mission system with Industry and Customer crews. The Belgian armed forces ordered eight NH90s, four TTHs for tactical transport operations and four NFHs for naval operations.

The Belgian NH90 NFH is delivered in its full operational capability standard, already known as the “Step B”. This aircraft is very close to the Dutch NH90 NFH Step B currently operationally deployed with the Royal Netherland’s Navy. This commonality brings to the Belgian customer all the return of experience collected during the development of the Dutch NH90 NFH.

“This first flight is an important milestone for NHI because we know that the Belgian Air Component has an urgent need to replace its ageing “Sea King Helicopters” declared Xavier Poupardin delegated managing director of NHI.

The NH90 NFH is a helicopter of 11 ton class primarily configured to perform naval operations such as Search and Rescue at sea, anti -piracy missions and transport missions in all environments by day and night.

The NH90 NFH is the most modern helicopter of its class available on the market. It features a high level of system integration built around a dual bus Core Avionic System, full glass cockpit with Multifunction Displays, Fly-by-wire controls with 4-axis Automatic Flight Control System. The dedicated Mission System includes among others: an Electro Optic sensor, Tactical Control and Tactical Communication System, a multimode radar and an On-Board Monitoring and Diagnostic System. It features a fully composite crashworthy fuselage fitted. The two Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca RTM322 engines provide power reserve in all environments. The NH90 helicopter has provision for a number of role equipment to enable mission flexibility and effectiveness coupled with a high level of safety and survivability.

The twin-engine, medium-size NH90 helicopter program is managed by the consortium NHIndustries, the Company owned by AgustaWestland (32%), Eurocopter (62.5%), and Stork Fokker (5.5%).

The NH90 helicopter programme is the largest ever launched in Europe, with firm orders now reaching 529 units for 19 Armed Forces of 14 Nations: France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Oman, Australia, New-Zealand, Spain and Belgium.
