About NHIndustries

The NH90 is the result of a co-operative effort done by the Armed Forces of France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands together with their Industries. The aim was to produce a common weapon system by sharing their operational experience, technology and costs.

The combined experience, skills and innovation of Europe’s leading helicopter manufacturers and the day-by-day support from the operational expertise of the Armed Forces results in the development and production of one of the most modern, competitive, high performance naval and tactical transport helicopter. 

The Industrialization and first batch Production contract for 243 NH 90 plus 55 options was signed on 30 June 2000 between NHIndustries and NAHEMA (the NATO Helicopter Management Agency) on behalf of the French, German, Dutch, and Italian Ministries of Defense (MoD).

After that paramount event, the NH90’s success has been underlined by a continuous attention from and its selection by some of the world’s most demanding and professional Armed Forces. A recognition of the excellent joint work performed.

The new Customers highly contributed in the further implementation and innovation of the helicopter versions and variants making the NH90 the most versatile multirole helicopter system able to cope with the multifaceted worldwide scenarios.

Today the total NH90 order backlog is 529 units , out of a total world-wide forecast of 1000 A/C in the medium term.
